Paleokastritsa, ideally situated halfway up the west coast of Corfu, is without a doubt one of the most scenic, well known and visited holiday resorts on Corfu. A long winding road stretches along the length of the resort. The nature of the geography of the area means there is no main resort centre like many of the resorts on the island – instead it consists of several mini centres, each catering for everything the holidaymaker needs. The advantage of the layout of the resort is that each accommodation is never far from restaurants, tavernas, souvenir shops, bars, car/bike/boat rental agencies, beaches, telephone boxes and bus stops.
Half way down the resort, you will find a small apartment complex named The Taxi Drivers Apartments and Studios, aptly named, as the owner is one of the few local taxi drivers. It is a small, but attractive, complex with only one apartment and two studios. The complex is situated in a small, but delightfully, lovely garden with lots of flowers where you can take a breather after a day of snorkelling, wandering and discovering, because there is a lot to do in Paleokastritsa, and that is not an understatement.

Lots of fun at Corfu

Are you a passionate sun-worshipper who likes to fry as an egg all day on the beach all day? Would you prefer to be in, on, or under the water? There are plenty of opportunities for that and the area is excellent for snorkelling and is the home to two diving centres? Perhaps you are a die-hard wanderer who would like to put on your hiking shoes and explore the surrounding villages or climb the local donkey paths that venture into the hillside behind the resort. Maybe you are a foodie and you will want to go out and visit every bar, restaurant and “have-to-be-places” that adorn this long, stretched out resort. There is no doubt about it: no one is getting bored in Paleo.

Several beaches in the neighbourhood

This area is well known for its number of lovely beaches and beautiful bays, and at The Taxi Drivers Apartment you are in the middle of it. That means when you exit the totally enclosed, fenced garden you will find yourself amongst a relaxed, steady flow of people on their way to all the nice and delicious places that are available in this very special seaside resort. For example when you walk 50 meters across from your holiday accommodation, your feet will touch the warm sand of a small beach.
Right beside the apartments is a supermarket where you can find everything money can buy, especially tourist needs. Beside the supermarket is restaurant Nausika, which is a very good traditional Greek restaurant. You do not have to go far to survive.

A great holiday at Corfu

The apartment is on the ground floor and is spacious, with two bedrooms (both with a bathroom!) and a wide kitchen-breakfast room. There is a balcony, from which you can enter the garden.
The studio’s both have a balcony where you can sit sipping your long drink, admiring the unsurpassed view of the sun setting beyond one of the many bays of Paleo.
From this spot, you are so privileged you can see the famous Lion’s Head, the pride of the superstitious locals of this coastal area of Corfu. When you look very carefully, you will recognize a lions head indeed, while others may see a monkeys head, it is a welcome bonus, this Lion’s Head, by grace and good fortune, what a view you have at this place!
To the front as well as to the rear of the apartments The Taxi Drivers House provides the opportunity to feast your eyes with amazing panoramic views of the Western coastline of Corfu and the mountain chain.
