Antinioti Lake Corfu
Utmost of Corfu, at the northern tip behind the beach of Agios Spiridon you will find Antinioti Lake. Visiting this area can really complete your holiday.
Protected area on Corfu
This beautiful and unspoiled natural environment is a protected area, something you rarely find on Corfu. If you leave the beach then the landscape quickly turns into something that in the first place reminds you of the New Forest or any other typically un-spoilt and protected area of the UK. A paved path leads through some beautiful fields towards a magnificent quiet forest, through which is perfect for a walk.
Abandoned beaches at Corfu
Walking northward through the forest you will arrive at Laronisi beach. This beach is completely as nature intended, no tavernas and bars, a rare sight on the north coast of the island. The sandy beach is sheltered by rocky shores, and waves endlessly crash on to it. Continue walking towards Acharavi you end up in a beautiful dune area. The landscape is crisscrossed by dirt roads and there is nothing to disturb the peace and quiet. On the north side of the lake is a fish farm.
Corfu Flora and Fauna
Due to the plethora of birds, wildlife and flowers, the area is protected for that reason and is therefore a paradise for bird watchers. Nature lovers, and even the non-initiated, will also be impressed with the stunning flora and fauna.
